Best practice to always keep the background in a separate layer like the Paper Layer. But this option is mainly only if you have something that didn't use the background as a separate layer to begin with. Now depending on your sketches or stuff, you might lose some of your more gradient or lighter colors used. Go to Edit > Convert Brightness to Opacity. There is a way to make the white transparent. (Like I did waaay in the beginning of using ClipStudio). Now if you got a already finished work but did the mistake of not keeping the background on the paper layer, example you made a new layer, filled it in with white then start drawing on that layer. If you save it to your desktop you can see it has this property.Īlright so that covers creating stuff and how to switch it to transparent background then exporting it as such. As said in this example, going to keep it default.Īnd voila, this image below has a transparent background. The last window will let you be able to preview the image while you can set the quality and view what the image size will be. For this example I am going to keep everything on default. So Quality Vs Performance is what needs to be tweaked here depending how big your image is. So if you have a transparent image that is like 20mb, you will run into issues. Everytime a webpage loads that has the image as part of it's desing it would be downloaded by the browser. If you are planning to use it as part of a website's design then it is extremely important to keep filesize in mind. What is important here is for what are you going to use the image for. You should get a whole bunch of options for the exporting. Do note to only choose an image type that supports transparency. Here you will see a few image options to export it as. So now lets export this with the transparency. You will see the grey checkered blocks, those indicate transparency. Now if I wanted to the background transparent then I would simply just need to untick the eyeball next to the paper layer. So lets begin by making a single stroke on the Raster Layer as such. (I'm waiting for my pen to charge so just going to use and example with the mouse for a few lines.) The Paper Layer and the standard Raster Layer that is used to start your work on. When you start a new sketch, drawing or painting you will see two layers.
